Intermet Fence Ltd is the biggest Polish producer of razor wire. Our innovative protection systems were made in cooperation with Polish and European renowned institutions. It makes us the best on the international market. Our solutions are used by: -airports, -prisons, -military facilities, -industry areas, -oil depots, -police departments. Important aspect of our production is the highest quality materials and constructions, what makes them really agressive. Razor wire has a central strand of high tensile strength wire (2,5mm) and steel tape punched into a shape with barbs. Razor wire is modern version of barbed wire. It is sharper and harder to pass. Extra barbs between the main razors are making them impossible to pass. We are flexible – we can adjust parameters to your needs. Our products are effective tools that can practically stop unwelcome intruders, deter them or at least substantially slow them down. Our main products: Concertina razor wire: this type of razor wire is formed in large coils which can be expanded like „concertina”. Razor wires are connected with special metal clips (from 3 to 7 clips, depending on razor wire diameter). This razor wire creates high stiffness and durability space structure, which makes it impossible to pass. We are able to produce „coil clipped” wire in following diameters: from 300 mm to 1000mm. Razor wire mesh: It is a high quality, modern, very effective hot dip galvanized fencing used to secure areas. Made of straight blade netting welded together, packed into a roll form for transport. It is impossible to climb or cut off with the standard tools. Made with ULTRA MEDIUM blade profile (35mm). Made of highest quality galvanized steel. Flatwrap razor wire: It is razor wire made from wire coils clapped into a flat panel formation. Normally used on the top of fences. It is use to make strengthen fencing construction. The following nominal diameters of Available FLATWRAP : 450mm, 500mm, 700mm.

Despite numerous advancements in technology, the issues of identity theft, unauthorized access to sensitive areas and data, as well as the management of foreigners and migrants are all serious challenges for governments, companies, and individuals. The problem costs many billions of Euros annually as most identity solutions have fallen short – notably passwords, PINs, identity cards and passports - whilst popular are all highly fallible, inconvenient and susceptible to accidents, loss or theft. TACTILIS is an electronic design and manufacturing company specializing in miniaturization and biometrics technology. The company has analyzed the present shortcomings and constraints in the ID sector and has developed a solution that addresses current issues and barriers. The TACTILIS solution is based around a credit card-sized computer incorporating a powerful CPU, large memory, an ISO-compliant biometric fingerprint sensor and a variety of input/output interfaces. The TACTILIS Computer Card implements the biometric capture, store and match within the card itself, making it a standalone device with the capability to replace all current forms of identification. It does not require the use of a database, is backward compatible with existing infrastructure, remotely upgradeable and can be used in any location and any time. Tactilis has also developed a highly-portable wireless carrier product that can be used in conjunction with the card that provides power together with communication functionality through Wifi, Bluetooth, USB, NFC, GPS and RFID. Tactilis’ main clients are system integrators in the USA and Middle East. One USA customer manages a government benefits programme for over 13million members whilst the Oman-based customer produces passports, ID documentation and financial cards for multiple countries. In addition, Tactilis has a large-scale smart-city project with the island of Madeira (Portugal) where the Tactilis card is used as a secure platform for daily life applications. Tactilis is also works with international airports to improve security and is currently implementing a pilot programme with the second largest airport in the USA. TACTILIS executives have significant global manufacturing, marketing and management experience in the microelectronics and ID security sector.

BORDERXPRESS™, by Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR), is the only automated border control solution, designed specifically by an airport, for airports. BORDERXPRESS™ reduces wait times for every traveller - not just a select few. Our solution accepts all passports, without any fees or prior registration requirements, to expedite processing and reduce border wait times by up to 50 per cent. BORDERXPRESS™ automates the administrative functions of border control with two simple steps. First, travellers complete the data-entry function themselves using an intuitive, touch-screen kiosk. The kiosk and software sends collected information and biometrics via encrypted transfer to a border control agency, which assesses the data and returns a government response. Second, an officer then verifies the documents for final admission. This additional step provides governments with an enhanced level of safety and security, as compared to competing technologies, as a border officer will always have the final approval to allow a traveller into the country. Vancouver Airport Authority launched BORDERXPRESS™ at Vancouver International Airport in 2009 and soon discovered that other airports and governments might also want the ability to reduce wait times and increase their international arrivals traffic without having to add additional space or staffing resources. YVR has now sold over 1,300 kiosks to 39 airport and seaports locations worldwide – more than any other automated passport control provider.

    WHAT IS CPD?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development’. It is essentially a philosophy, which maintains that in order to be effective, learning should be organised and structured. The most common definition is:

‘A commitment to structured skills and knowledge enhancement for Personal or Professional competence’

CPD is a common requirement of individual membership with professional bodies and Institutes. Increasingly, employers also expect their staff to undertake regular CPD activities.

Undertaken over a period of time, CPD ensures that educational qualifications do not become obsolete, and allows for best practice and professional standards to be upheld.

CPD can be undertaken through a variety of learning activities including instructor led training courses, seminars and conferences, e:learning modules or structured reading.

    CPD AND PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTES

There are approximately 470 institutes in the UK across all industry sectors, with a collective membership of circa 4 million professionals, and they all expect their members to undertake CPD.

For some institutes undertaking CPD is mandatory e.g. accountancy and law, and linked to a licence to practice, for others it’s obligatory. By ensuring that their members undertake CPD, the professional bodies seek to ensure that professional standards, legislative awareness and ethical practices are maintained.

CPD Schemes often run over the period of a year and the institutes generally provide online tools for their members to record and reflect on their CPD activities.

TYPICAL CPD SCHEMES AND RECORDING OF CPD (CPD points and hours)

Professional bodies and Institutes CPD schemes are either structured as ‘Input’ or ‘Output’ based.

‘Input’ based schemes list a precise number of CPD hours that individuals must achieve within a given time period. These schemes can also use different ‘currencies’ such as points, merits, units or credits, where an individual must accumulate the number required. These currencies are usually based on time i.e. 1 CPD point = 1 hour of learning.

‘Output’ based schemes are learner centred. They require individuals to set learning goals that align to professional competencies, or personal development objectives. These schemes also list different ways to achieve the learning goals e.g. training courses, seminars or e:learning, which enables an individual to complete their CPD through their preferred mode of learning.

The majority of Input and Output based schemes actively encourage individuals to seek appropriate CPD activities independently.

As a formal provider of CPD certified activities, SAE Media Group can provide an indication of the learning benefit gained and the typical completion. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the delegate to evaluate their learning, and record it correctly in line with their professional body’s or employers requirements.

    GLOBAL CPD

Increasingly, international and emerging markets are ‘professionalising’ their workforces and looking to the UK to benchmark educational standards. The undertaking of CPD is now increasingly expected of any individual employed within today’s global marketplace.
